I would also rank Perl the same as the gel for durability. If it doesn't get wet, it's good for about 10 days or so. If you get a good rain, it's pretty much gone.
None a big issue for me, I apply it every week when washing the car so it works ok for me. I think I like Perl just a tad better than the McKee's gel but they're very similar in performance. I went with Perl as it's a little more versatile and can be used on other parts of the car too with different dilution ratios.

I get six weeks minimum durability out of SiO2 ETS in the winter, driving on muddy roads. It's really amazing, IMHO.

Have you tried Mckees Tire Coating? Not saying you should if you get those results from ETS, just curious.

I like this product also, but the tires do seem to need to be scrubbed clean in order for it to work properly, just like you said. I have used it on tires and then reapplied to those same tires after the next wash. If I only use car wash shampoo to scrub the tires during that wash the dressing will not fully dry to the touch. I have to wipe them down with a microfiber and that leaves a good amount of dark residue (I’m assuming dirt from the tire) on the towel. Now that I think about it, the product has never dried to the touch for me on any tires. I will have to apply to a tire that is scrubbed clean and see if it dries properly.

"After the tire shine has completely cured then I take a microfiber cloth folded as pictured below and gently wipe off the excess tire shine."
I'm curious..why do you have to wipe the excess after its been fully cured? Shouldn't you do a final wipe before its fully cured?

If you’re doing the heavy cleaning anyways, I highly recommend using it and then using ETS as maintenance after cleaning the coating with a good soap and water wash.

good to note that too as I was going to try perl. I just can't get to weekly washes. I know, I know blasphemy. But with covid I hardly drive anyhow.
