Re: Mothers CMX vs Sonax Polymer Net Shield long term durability test
Sounds like the CMX is a disappointment. Regardless of the beading, it doesn't sound like it is protecting the paint that well either.

I agree, started off very strong and then disappointed.
It seems to still be doing well on front windshield, even after a lot of wiper use. Vertical panels are doing well too.
Here is a video I finally got to work! Sorry for crappy video shooting but was raining when I took it. Was taken Feb 23, 2019

See photos after rain of dirty trunk lid.
CMX side
PNS side
Both sides equally as dirty. Wanted to wash tonight, but supposed to possibly rain over next 2 days so may wait. That way I can see if they are able to disperse of the dirt/grime.
I forgot how much more dirt shows on white vs my old red car.

I noticed that CMX doesn’t have as good self cleaning capabilities as I was hoping it would.
That being said, I ripped it with Ech2o, and that has some serious self cleaning capabilities.

You have no idea how bad I am tempted to just wash with Ech2o and go on with my life lol. But I do it for you, the Autogeeks.
I'm going to try adding a small amount of Megs HCW to my Ech2o detailer, see how that does.

Re: Mothers CMX vs Sonax Polymer Net Shield long term durability test
So after a month here is what I’ve come up with for an opinion. I’m trying to take into account forest said this last for months and months.
We as geeks aren’t impressed due to the beading and self cleaning on horizontal panels. If it didn’t fall on its face after 2 weeks, which a reset wash or n914 may help who knows, but it’s safe to say we wouldn’t use this as a stand-alone with expectations to reach the 6 month mark.
With that said i think jo blow in his driveway with his destroyed swirled out paint won’t notice and will enjoy the product. I would guess this is who the product was initially designed for as we all have way better kool aid we have sipped.
I myself feel Megs UFF is better and will stay with that for a sealant. That or 845/476/915

I was initially interested in either PNS or CMX but kinda put off CMX now, maybe I should be looking at something like CanCoat or maybe even TAC Moonlight.
The search function is great but also throws up so many decisions, just when I`m set on one product another slips right on in there.
