What did you do before you coated the car?
And it could be that you did not waited long enough to the first wash. It's recommended to wait a week to get the coating fully cured.
How did you buff off the marring after you noticed it?

Ive been using these towels for years, litterally wear them out and never had an issue. I do usually dry windows first, and then just glide the towel over the surface. There is no need for pressure of any sort. I also often use a "drying aid" such as a spray wax or quick detailer which helps make the surface slicker as the towel goes across it and helps remove water spots. I probably have gone through a dozen of these towels with no issue ever.
