Welcome to the downward spiral.
Both options should be good, though.

I dont have a DA and I dont want to remove paint since my test subject is a daily driver. So i am hoping that the glaze within paint cleaner will somehow be durable.
I would not even worry about using an abrasive polish by hand. Unless you are Superman or the Hulk you won't be removing that much clear if any at all.
Hulk smash clear coat lol

With the sealant, I would suspect the glaze will hold up fine as it's being protected by the sealant.
edit: What does TheGuz think?
I posted my thoughts. I would not hesitate to use an abrasive polish by hand. But that is just me and I prefer to have my shoulders in one piece . Thank goodness for the polishers that do a majority of the work.

Hulk smash! hahahaha
I once did a Megs #7 by hand. Two words: spaghetti arms
I would hesitate to do that type of job again. Unless it pays well. Even then....scary. My shoulder just cringed.

I know! Haha
I just want to “clean” the car, hide swirls, and keep it shiny.
I found that is the secret to happiness - live with shiny swirls

Roughly eight months later, you can still see the edge of where the tape was.
