Re: Review of Griot's Garage Liquid Gloss Poly Wax
How is the Gloss Poly Wax do in the self cleaning category? I've been very impressed with how clean my car stays with FK1000, but I don't really enjoy applying a paste wax. But, after a heavy rain the car looks almost like it's just been washed.
Bird bomb protection with the FK1000 is also outstanding, but would like to hear how the Gloss Poly Wax performs in this category as well.

I did a white car a couple weeks ago with it. I'll have to take a look after some hard rains today to see how it looks - usually it gets those ugly "cry" marks under the door handles really easily.

Was that before the Poly Wax or after?

Re: Review of Griot's Garage Liquid Gloss Poly Wax
Hey All
So read through some of the comments. Having the coolest job in the World, being a product developer for Griots Garage exposes you to countless competitive formulas. As a detailer, using product is part of what we do... so many exceptional options today. You all are so fortunate. As we develop a product, we assess the market to identify the very best performing products in the category. Like all Griot's Garage formulas, this was developed from scratch. We identify all the performance characteristics we know users (Do it yourself to Do it for me) and begin formulating. Countless iterations of formulas are meticulously evaluated. Multiple testers. Multiple environments. Multiple surfaces.
So proud of this formula. With humility, I'd sincerely say with confidence.... this will outperform most, if not all the Synthetic waxes (Amino Functional Silicones) on the market. Why would I say that.... because we test them all and validate we outperform them. If we don't, it doesn't go in a bottle... period.
Poly Wax is non-abrasive. So it should dry clear on trim, etc. applying any more than 2-3 coats of "film- forming sealants like this only makes us money. In other words, the only reason you'd want to do that is if you just love rubbing on your vehicle. Look up "law of diminishing returns".... In testing, this formula exhibited one of the easiest on / easiest off, deepest, darkest shine, along with exceptional protection.
Please let me know if you've got any questions. As for application. You could apply and let dry on the surface over night if you want. It'll still wipe off in one pass.

Thank you Jeff. What is your recommendation for maintaining the poly wax for the Chicago winter?

Good question, referring to proper maintenance.
I live in Minnesota and face some tough winters. I have the fortunate ability to wash my vehicles in my heated garage. I typically wash at least once a week with a good pH balanced wash like Brilliant Finish Car Wash. in between washing, I'll remove salt with Spray On Car Wash or a Rinseless Wash. The GG Spray On Wax can be mister on following a wash, prior to drying. This will too the Poly Wax with a Carnauba Protection, enhancing gloss and maintaining protection
Stay safe this Winter
