Review: Griot`s Garage MF Wash Pad

Review: Griot`s Garage MF Wash Pad

    Introduction:

Another of the products Nick sent me to review.

Thanks again to Corey for providing the format.

    Product

    Product Claims:

    From Autogeek site:

    "Four quadrants for scratch-free washing!

You might be looking at this Microfiber Wash Pad and think that it’s nothing special…well you’re wrong. Griot’s Garage Microfiber Wash Pad is a thoughtfully designed, 10” x 10” square wash pad that delivers four work zones for scratch-free washing. This ingeniously designed wash pad offers four quadrants which allow you to fold it in half, delivering four individual cleaning panels per side. Washing your car, truck, or SUV has never been this easy!

With its deep, plush-nap microfiber and absorbent foam-lined interior, Griot’s Garage Microfiber Wash Pad holds a tremendous amount of wash to highly lubricate the surface. It quickly pulls contaminants away from your paint, ensuring a swirl-free finish every time. Use with Griot’s Garage Car Wash and have fun in your garage…errr driveway!

Using the Microfiber Wash Pad is SIMPLE! After washing one panel, fold or flip the pad to reveal a fresh, clean side. Wash your entire vehicle using this technique. Reload with soapy water after you’ve used each quadrant.

Microfiber Wash Pad is built Griot`s Garage tough so you can machine wash it and enjoy clean and pristine paint for years to come. For best results, avoid traditional laundry detergents and most importantly, do not use fabric softeners! Frequently wash with Griot’s Garage Micro Fiber & Foam Pad Cleaner and enjoy years of scratch-free washing.

Holds a goodly bit of wash solution. Nap isn`t especially long but adequate. MF surface is soft and did not mar paint. Pretty thick if folded into quarters.

    Pics

    None.

Does it meet its claims? Yes.

    Pros:

    1.- Soft MF
    2.- Cleans well

    ???:

    1.- None.

    Cons:

    1.- None.

    Final Observations and Summary:

This is the first product that seems to be designed for washing a car the way I wash a car (Modified Garry Dean Perfect Wash Method).

    Do I like it? Yes.

Is it perfect? No. I would like the interior sponge to be a bit thinner so it could fold into quarters flatter. Maybe even double stitch it to promote that. Bigger overall would be nice, too. Could even live with longer nap.

Note - I mostly used it halved instead of quartered. But I don`t follow instructions well. Just would need more of them.

Still an excellent product. More useable to my style of washing than the Bones or sponges. Recommended.

Re: Review: Griot`s Garage MF Wash Pad

    Thanks for the review.

I like the idea of this pad, but I think you are right that it needs to be bigger.

So I inadvertently DID use it correctly. My bad.
