Re: Griot's Garage NEW BOSS Paint Polishing System
Ok, so I took advantage of the sale yesterday and I ordered a BOSS21. Not to start a huge debate but, I was going to get a Flex and I am hoping a made a good decision. Any thoughts?

I think you picked the right tool.
I originally had a Flex 3401 and I love my long throw DAs more than the 3401. The longer throw DA was easier to control and it works just as fast (if not better) in removing swirls and scratches.
I think the BOSS will be slightly better than the Rupes to be honest. I can't wait to get my hands on that in the future because I'll be comparing them side by side.
This is MY opinion. There are others that I know like the 3401 more and will disagree with me.

Both are very good and capable tools, no wrong choice IMO, and like Marc mentioned, it really comes down to what you like. For me, Even though the Flex performed well, I didn't really care for it and eventually sold it.

It's good to keep in mind that these are just tools; a means to an end. If you prefer your Rupes and you get the results you want, then it's the right tool for the job. The important thing about a tool is that you are comfortable using it.

I think asking after the fact is pointless. just my thought.

Thanks but, I disagree. The only question that is pointless is one that was never asked.
If someone had any experience with both of them and said, night and day, the Flex is better or vice versa, don't waste your money. I would consider exchanging one for the other. I assume they would do that seeing as, it hasn't even ship yet

Re: Griot's Garage NEW BOSS Paint Polishing System
Thanks guys! I can't wait to get it. I have 2 black and a 1 red car that I have been "maintaining" with a PC and it takes forever.
Plus, I'm not really able to pull heavy scratches or swirls out with the PC. I hope this new machine speeds things up a bit!

Removing scratches out of glass is a time intensive process and it would be interesting to see how a long orbit stroke length polisher would work using a glass polishing pad and cerium oxide.
Next time I have a chance I'll test it out on a windshield with wiper marks.
Good deal ill be using car pros ceriglass
My kia has a bunch of horizontal scratch lines all over windshield. ..guessing from ice scraper
Couple of my older 70s cars have one or two scrathes from wiper blades
this will be my first test with the machine.
Just curious if I should have opted for the 5inch backing plate with 5.5 pads vs 6in plate and 6.5 pads

Re: Griot's Garage NEW BOSS Paint Polishing System
Can't wait to have someone use the megs MF system on it to see if it work as well as on the rupes. I was just about to get a rupes but now I think I'll wait a little bit. I am a fan of the megs MF system and just bought a bunch of MF pads and the new megs da foam pads to use with a 21. I for sure will buy a rupes 75 for my 3 and 4 inch pads but now I have to wait to see on the other I guess.
