Aah, gotcha. That's too bad, I got excited thinking that sanding mode would utilize forced rotation. Maybe on version 2?😉

There is so much good information in the demo video outside of the tool. Thank you Yvan and Mike both for a wonderful demo on the "transformer". Brilliant idea and well built & engineered by the looks and sound of it. Now they need a mini version to play with the Nano and Pixie. Another tool added to a wish list.

Have to be honest, I'm not sure exactly what you mean?
If you're asking,
Can the UDOS in ROTARY mode be used to machine sand?
The answer is "no".
When sanding with a rotary, it's no longer called sanding - it's called grinding. Please take my word for it - don't do it.

I think what they were asking is whether the 8mm Sanding mode is forced rotation like the FLEX 3401? That's what I'm wondering too.

This is the NSX of the polishing world, perfect machine delivered late.
Technology has moved on, cordless is the future.

Hey! Wristy is back!

Copy that.
If that is the case, the answer is no. The only gear-drive action in the current UDOS is when it's in rotary mode. All the orbit modes are free spinning.
My guess is to make this tool do,
- Gear-driven rotary (kind of goes without saying)
- Gear-driven orbital
- Multiple free spinning orbital
Would be an engineering marvel. Way too many moving parts. BUT - I'm not an engineer so could be possible. All things are possible.
I still would not machine sand factory car paint with gear-driven anything. Free spin is more than adequate.
