    XMT dusting up?

    Hello all,

I did my first detail this past weekend and had a question about the XMT line. As it states in the subject line, I experienced a lot of dust from using XMT #1,2. Is that normal? I made sure to spray the pads with some water and used a nail brush to remove any excess from the previous panel. There wasn't any marring on paint or anything. I'm just curious.

BTW - I'll post pics in the show and shine when I get a chance. TIA for the feedback.

    Ryan

I polished my truck with XMT 1 this weekend and saw what I thought was a good bit of dusting as well.

I know what you mean. What surprised me was that my Menz SIP and PO106FF dusted less than XMT3. I've had good luck with Menz so far, with little to almost no dusting.

optimum is the only polish not to dust me so far.i added a little squirt of vmg to my xmt and it cured the dusting problem. xmt does dust some butnot as bad as the SSR ,they dust something crazy.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I thought I was doing something wrong or didn't mist the pad enough. I was thinking about using optimum but opted for XMT as I'm a beginner. But it's worked very well just makes more of a cleanup though...heheh

I experienced the bad dusting on XMT3 this weekend. I forgot to treat the pad first, but the polishing came out nicely. Still didn't get out all the swirls though....

Don't use too much product and you won't experience much dust. I use pea sized amount.
