Pad cleaning
Whats the best way to clean and get all the excess polish and wax out of the pad. All I have is dawn, washer and dryer, detergent.

dawn with work , but consider the DP Pad Rejuvinator or Pinnacle XMT pad conditioner. Both products are lighter in design and wont leave residue on the pads.

Try a little detergent and a little white vinegar

I recently purchased (and started using) the XMT series Polishing Pad Cleaner and can tell you from first hand experience that I am really impressed with this product.
Nice smell, easy to apply, massage gently into the pad, leave for 30 seconds to a couple of minutes and simply rinse out the pad.
I think what really impressed me however was the results I got with a couple of pads that I had let dry in the garage without being cleaned, I fully expected to have to pitch them in the trash, but this stuff brought them back from the dead.
Highly recommend this product for all pads and polishers.
