    Re: Seeking Advice

I would clean the area first, then clay before start. Claying will remove contaminants or anything that scratched it may have transferred to the finish.

I mean, prepare your work area at first.

Looking from here, TSR and white pad may be able to get rid of it.

If you have some experience compounding, I'd use FG400 on orange pad but just enough passes to remove the scratch, wipe it off then polish with a finer polish to get it finished. This if TSR doesn't touch the scratch.

Add speed to the polisher, pressure, and slow arm movement (sloooow, not steady). Wipe off and inspect your results.

Then, wax/seal over it to protect the finish.

For a spot like that, I'd prefer smaller plate and pad to 'concentrate' action of the tool.

I'd even try to remove a scratch like that by hand at first, using FG400 on a folded MF towel, but polisher movement may give you professional finish on that one. However, if you have a hard paint working by hand may be tough.

IMO, and looking from here, you'll be able to get rid of this scratch smoothly and in a non-traumatic manner.

Just don't do nothing crazy and you'll be alright.

    Kind Regards.

Thanks for the help everyone, I ended up waiting for a 3" microfiber cutting pad to come in and I did 4 passes with the PC on 5. IPO'd to check for fill and I can no longer find the scratch. I looked for a good 5 minutes straight, it's gone. Wooo!

Awesome result! That's what this forum is all about: ask - get tons of answer, study the subject a lot (review some Mike Phillips threads and videos additionally) and then go to field practice.

Looks like you did (very well) your homework.

Congratulations, looking for what will come next!

    Kind REgards.
