Re: Griots, Flex, Rupes DA clone
This IS really good news. Undoubtedly the quality of the Griot machines cannot be argued. (At least not ad nauseam as you generally hear for all things Chinese.) To get the same throw *12mm* at a price that'll likely be $100 or more less than the Rupes Duetto is a winner winner chicken dinner.

Contrary to popular belief, not all things made in China suck. Many products are American in design, just assembled elsewhere. The iPhone is a perfect example. Designed in California, made in China. Most "American" cars are built elsewhere as well. My car is a Honda, but it was built here in America (Tennessee Plant). Imagine that.
Anyhow, this machine sounds promising. I wonder how it will stack up against more expensive machines.

I think this is a case where you get what you pay for.

exactly. if it has more torque and power (not to mention if it doesn't bog down easily) and is what the GG6 is to the PCXP and comes with a lifetime warranty, not to mention cheaper in price as well, then I'm sure many will consider this as another option to the rupes 21/15...

I agree. It's all a matter of the quality control standards in place at the manufacturing plant. Where it's made and who makes it is becoming irrelevant.

Have you ever considered that the Rupes just might be manufactured in China already? They do have a corner on the market.

There is some interesting things that look all too familiar on that website... (maxshine) Especially the MF towels, hmmmm.

Re: Griots, Flex, Rupes DA clone
Another interesting point regarding the MaxShine -- it seems to use the standard 5/16"-24 backing plate that we are all accustomed to using. And, if you click on the link on the left side of the page for backing plates they offer 125mm (5") and 150mm (6") backing plates with and without cooling holes. This would further add to the savings in that a smaller backing plate wouldn't cost $40 as with the Rupes.
IMO the deciding factor will be if the MaxShine (Griots) will offer the smooth lack of vibration offered by the Rupes.

Re: Griots, Flex, Rupes DA clone
Now I'm kinda curious as to who else will be selling these here in the states and re-badging them with their name. Maybe CG's next? Btw, they have their own online forum now...
