    new car pad choices?

Bought a new 2014 Camry SE and will be doing a buffing with my Porter Cable 7424 over Thanksgiving. Not sure what my best choices for pads would be? Ive mostly used lake county CCS pads in the past done the XMT 123 and pinnicle paint cleanser polishing on my older truck, as weel as Wolfgang 2.0 sealant. Looking for new pad color choices.
Paint on the camry is bolero red (sort of a pearl light metallic dar ked) is good and passes the plastic bag test pretty well. I have the Velcro backing flange, but looking at the smaller 4" backing flange as well for tight spots.

Thanks in advance for your input!

If the paint is in good shape I would stick with a polishing pad, seems you are using LC pads so I would go with the White Flat or Tangerine Hydra Tech.

+1 Toyota paint tends to be super soft, so a light polish is all it would need. Try a finishing pad/finish polish combo first. If that isn't enough then move to a white pad.

    Re: new car pad choices?

I own Hondas...also with the super soft clear. I've found that on a new one, going straight to a white pad works fine. Being it is so soft, there is always some kind of minor scratching there from my non-perfected wash/dry method, so I want a slight cutting ability from my pad. I just did my winter detail on my 2013 and spot corrected a few "bad" scratches with M105 (didn't have my FG400 yet), then polished the entire car with SF4500 on a white LC CCS pad. Came out great.

I would recommend claying a brand new car as well. It may feel fairly smooth, but you'd be surprised what still comes off during the process. Just use an ultra fine clay like Pinnacle Ultra Poly clay.

I use mostly white flat pads or tangerine Hydrotechs on my wifes 2012 Camry. I have acheived excellent results with Meguiar's M205 and the Wolfgang polishes.
