    A different G110v2 problem?

I'm pretty sure I'll be sending mine back to Meguiars under warranty, but wanted to ask if anyone has heard of this particular problem before and if it's easily fixable.

I corrected one car with my G110v2 back in March when it was new. It's been sitting in a drawer in the garage until yesterday. The moment I fired it up its speed oscillated between "really slow" and "hardly moving". Too slow to do any correction with. I found that if I turned the speed dial to 1, the polisher would work as intended. Turning the speed higher didn't do anything until it reached speed 2 and started doing the oscillating slow-to-nothing dance again. This was repeatable. Any speed setting between 2 and 6 was useless.

Because it's been so long since I've used the DA polisher, I don't know what speed its single useable speed was. It could have been 1, or something else entirely.

I wouldn't expect the brushes to wear out after doing one small car. But maybe?

Mine acted in a similar way and the power cord was faulty. Before replacing it I tore it down, cleaned, it up, and ran it while it was apart. I found out the cord was bad by wiggling it around while running. After replacing the cord it operates like it should.

I've heard about the power cord issue - if that was the case with mine, why would it work continuously at Speed 1? Something seems fishy.

It will do this without the pad being in contact with the paint, too, fwiw.
