Trouble with Edge 2000 Wave pads!!
I occured some trouble with the 8" wave pads here on friday.
May I first say, that I`m kinda green in rotary use, but I`m learing
Anyway, first of all, I tried three different ways to apply the compunds, 1.directly on the car and pick it up with the rotary
2.quarter size amount directly on the pad and applied it to the car without turning the rotary
3.spread the product out with an applicator pad before working with rotary
Either way the waves in the pad picked up a lot of compund and splattered it all over....
Is there any trick for these pads?

any pad is going to splatter if you dont work it in enough...i put in on the pad and rub it in as much as possible with the buffer off...(up and down, side to side) and when i see it is worked in enough to not splatter i turn it on slow then move up speed..works like a charm for me

that's what I do. I have tried the method of applying the polish/compund on the paint and picking it up with the pad and that works good to me too. There is a trick to it though, always pick up the product the same direction the pad spins...well I tried eather way and I got good results. I would only pick up parts of the products work it in then pick up the rest.
Well that's just me experimenting. Seems to be working good for me.
