Centering 6.5in pads on rotary backing plate
I recently bought some of the Lake country 6.5in pads (the regular ones on sale, not the CCS) and a backing plate made for my makita rotary. I chose to go this route so I could use the same pads that I used on my PC with my new rotary. This is the backing plate I got:
Rotary 4 Flexible Backing Plate
I can't seem to center the pad properly on the backing plate, when I run the machine I can see an uneven spinning of the pad. Is there anything anyone can recommend to help me?
Also, is this uneven placement of the pad on the backing plate harming anything?
Thanks to all who respond,
Pete

I wouldnt say its harming anything, maybe making the machine work a little harder since the weight isnt displaced evenly. But this is one of the good things about the Edge pads. They are always centered.
