I for one would keep it. But that's me. Now it shows you Quality control issues with China made products. I just love my GV and in my opinion PC is second rate as far as performance goes. There are few things I would like to see changed, but that is a different issue.

The PCXP sucks donkey balls! I probably shouldn't have said that! I've used it a few times, and anything below speed 5 is worthless, IMO.

I'll let you in on a little trick, you make a sanding fixture that approximates the radius of the commutator, and you sand the end of the brush to approximately the commutator shape--makes break-in a lot faster then going from flat.

Yes I suppose that would work to speed things up for a tool. In the case of the RC motors we used to run them wide open in a solution of motor cleaner. Yes totally submerged in liqiud. Once the brushes were brokenn in the the motor was taken apart and the com was trued on a jewlers lathe and then balanced. Coms swell with speed when new and need to be recut. Sounds crazy but so is $100.00 bucks for 6 batteries in a matched pack! sorry for the hijack.

Mark, have you packed that machine up and sent it back yet? If not, just for giggles try pulling the rear housing off the machine to see if you can adjust the placement of the speed dial -- it might just be in there with a slight interference fit preventing it from going all the way to 6.

See Tuscarora Dave's cord replacement thread for pics of what I'm describing.

Well, I never used the pcxp but the results I've seen Tad achieve with it are among the VERY best I have seen anyone get with any machine.

I can't say I could do as good with the pc as I do with my flex but he can. He has a flex now too and said it is absolutely less vibration than the pcxp though.

I can say first hand the flex is 10x less vibration than the grioss...

Anyway, didn't mean to hijack just wanted to balance the thread with another perspective on the PC even though it's not my perspective! thanks buddy!!
