Pressure on PC

OK, I've been reading here about applying pressure when using the PC to polish. To get swirls out, I've read that I should press enough so that the motor starts to bog down, then back off (seems like high pressure to me) Being new, I'm concerned about applying too much pressure.

So is there such a thing as too much pressure? Can I press too hard and damage my paint job? Or can I just press away until I get the results I like?

Make sure the pad spins, not just "shake". if you use ordinary pads, put a mark on top of it, to se if it moves around, it can be hard to see sometimes

Dont sit on the PC, but some presure wont kill it.

Machine pressure- apply enough pressure (approx 15 pounds force (20 pounds force will stall the motor) a foam pads should be compressed approx 50%) so that the pad still oscillates at full speed, but by applying any more the machine begins to stall, and then back off the pressure very slightly

RIGHT .........AGREE ;)

Lets say you had the Edge 2000 pads, what would you guys recemend to see that it's spening?

Piece of tape maybe, as long as it can be removed again, and stick during use. it works, no hard types of tape then.

How important is adding that much pressure? Can you add less pressure, but just take a little more time polishing, and move slower? (So the heat still builds up).

I ask because well, I'm not that big of a guy, and holding 10-15 lbs. of pressure constantly for 5 min over and over again is wearing on me.

I just bought you a membership to Gold's Gym, should arrive today:D

Should add a little pressure when doing correction as that's about the only way the PC will correct most swirls/scratches.

A little pressure on the pc might be a lot to someone else though....
Shoot, if I can do it....:)
