Need help with results from XMT

you can go to a yellow cutting pad but thats really aggresive.i dont think you need to go there.try compound with the orange then polish. im not used to pinnicals products so i dont know how good they are i use optimium

Those black spots look like sap. Just wondering.

Use the same compound but a more aggressive pad now. Try this and let us know.

XMT is not very aggressive but it's pad dependant. This should work more.

The BEFORE picture with the black spots are before I even washed, so sap is a good possibility. I did, however, wash/clay before I began.

So now you all have given suggestions to up both the pad and/or the chemical. Which one should I try first? Maybe a harsher line of chemicals? Maybe just the XMT3 on the same pad? XMT2 on a yellow pad?

I am jsut worried about going too far and taking too much off when not neccessary. Thanks again.

Try XMT2 with a stronger pad.
Then XMT3 with your orange pad first and so on.

Always go light to harsh.

is the XMT2/yellow less abrasive than XMT3/orange?

They will react different depending on your clear and pressure.

I use less pressure and go faster with a strong combo like XMT3 and a heavy cutting pad.
This is just my technique and has taken me months and a lot of cars to perfect. This just allows me to finish faster.

yea, im a noob but judging by my pictures and the first hour ive even help a PC, I'm happy so far. I'd like to get it done faster than doing each step 3 times though...

Remember, I was a noob too. I used to take 6 hours just to polish and wax. 8 hours for a total detail. I now can do one better in less than 4. Take your time and learn how each product works. By doing this, you will eventually save time in the future.

Think of it as school now. By summer, you will be soaring!

I'll also ad that they may very well be unremovable w/o a rotary. Some swirls don't look bad or deep, when in fact they are almost like tiny indents shaped like "v". I've had times where the main swirls were fairly easy to get rid of, but there always remained a few marks/lines, and even with Opitmum Compound and a yellow or green Edge cutting pad I just could not get them to budge on speed 6, even tried with a 4" Edge cutting pad. Try XMT 3 witha cutting pad and see what happens.
