They make stepdown transformers to solve this problem. Follow this link and I am sure they can fix you up for a reasonable price. They carry a model that will allow you to use something that consumes up to a 1000watts of power (for around $35), it is designed to step down 240V to 120V. This should work for you. Send them an email and I'm sure they can help. If you need some assistance send me a PM and I would be glad to help you out.

    Hi from NZ.

They make a 230v version of the Flex VRG 3401. Autogeek sells this as well.

step down transformers are very poplular for US soldiers stationed in Germany (was there 2 years),and work very well. I used them for my heat gun to shine my boots.

Though, the new barracks have both 240 and 120 volt, so they are no longer necessary.

I believe the Cyclo has a counterpart offering too ...but power converters/transformers sound like a great option for using a specific power tool outside the country.

Porter Cable XP or Griot Garage. They are both great machines

Sully, Do you have the Griots? Can you take the handle off. I usually use the Metabo rotary but keep a PC and a Cyclo around because I always use them too for specific applications. I like the feel of having my hand right on top. Maybe I would like the handle but how's your experience been.
It's all about the Prep, and your skills of course!

Yes, you can remove the handle off all 3 of the 2nd generation polishers and use them sans handle which is my personal preference.
