Newb with question.
I use to own a PC (long gone) back when it was first introduced for woodworking.Would a unit like the Bosch 3283 DVS work with proper pads etc. as well as the PC or G110? I would rather spend my hard earned on pads and polishes if this would work without harming my vehicles paint.Any insight or experience from someone familiar with Bosch would be greatly appreciated.

What are the specs? I googled it and found no info on it. Variable speed? Dual Action? Rotory? HP/TQ?

Re: Newb with question.
It is a random orbit sander, 8000-12000 opm, variable speed control with soft start feature. Sander has 5" hook and loop backing plate which is available in extra soft ,soft, and hard. I inherited a shop full of tools when my dad passed away most orientated toward woodworking. As far as I can tell the closest current model from the Bosch website would be model 1295 DVSK.

Re: Newb with question.
The Porter Cable has a OPM of 2,500-6,000. Your specs are 8,000-12,000 which might be to powerful for paint. It might work on the lower 8,000 opm, you'll just have to get some 5.5" pads and try it out. Just checked out the Flex specs and it's 3,200-9,000 so I guess you should not exceed 9,000 opm. Let us know how it works out.
