Looks great. Those kind of jobs with a very noticeable before and after appearance are very rewarding. Nicely done guys.

    Wheels and Tires

Huge thank you to Frank for tackling the worst part of this project and that was trying to make some kind of difference with the wheels and tires.

The wheels are clearcoated polished aluminum and there's a lot of areas where the clearcoat has come off and is flaking and peeling off where it's still on the wheel.

Not much anyone can do to fix clearcoat failure on a wheel except to remove the tires from the wheels and have them re-painted. That's beyond our scope for our Thursday night projects so we'll let the owners handle this aspect.

We did clean and then dress the tires though and that's where Frank took over...

Machine cleaning with a Cyclo soft upholstery brush on a Griot's DA Polisher.

After machine scrubbing and hand wiping the tires clean, Frank uses BLACKFIRE Total Eclipse Tire Shine Spray to restore a deep, dark shine to the tires.

    Thanks Frank!

After moving the Isuzu into the studio and inspecting more closely we verified this Isuzu has been repainted. The current paint is single stage and it's possible the factory paint was single stage but it could have been basecoat/clearcoat. Only an Isuzu Rodeo Guru would know for sure.

She hasn't even seen it yet! She'll see it tonight when Mike returns it to her...

I agree. I actually like doing extreme makeovers to what some people would consider a "beater". One of my favorite all time projects was "The Chicken Truck", back in Oregon.

I actually put out some buffer sticks, cone shaped foam on a stick that you can use with an electric drill but before I could get someone going on the grill with the drill a bunch of guys knocked it out by hand.

Thanks Mike, it's too bad we couldn't do more with the wheels due to the clear coat failure but we did the best we could under the circumstances. At least we got the tires looking good . What an amazing transformation on the paint! The guys did a super job on the paint with your training and suggestions of products and methods .

I don't know Mike, your slipping! I see quite a bit of product dust down in between the hood and fenders! Lol!

Seriously though, OMG! What a transformation! Any unknowing person would end up paying $2000+ for a paint job that wouldn't even look nearly as great as you and the team made it look! Great work! This one will definitely stick in my mind for a long time!
