What color are you considering for the calipers?
Stacy says she wants them Ivan Blue, that is the blue color of the car Ivan is driving in the AG Logo.

Always my pleasure. I like the variety of cars we have go through our Thursday night classes, tomorrow night is a classic show winning 1970 Cuda and the week after SEMA we have a modern muscle car with a 2013 Charger. The following weekend we have a 1967 Chevelle.

Always a mix of new and old so there's something for everyone...

I tend to like to work on the same types of cars Chip Foose and Wayne Carine work but that's just me... seems to be a gig that works for them historically.

    Interior Detailing

Besides the outside of the car we also did the inside starting with the floor mats. I wanted to make sure the floor mats are clean before sealing them with CarPro CQuartz Fabric & Leather Coating.

    Step 1 - Dry Extraction

Before introducing any type of liquid to carpet or upholstery you want to first remove as much of any dirt you can via dry extraction.

First we blew the carpets out using the Tornador Air Blow Out Gun.
    (Picture tomorrow)

Next we used the Tornador Blastor Vacuum Attachment connected to the Detailer's Shop-Vac to loosen and extract dirt out of the fibers.

The nozzle in my hand is the Tornador Blastor Vacuum Attachment hooked up to an air line with 90 PSI.

Step 2 - Spray Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner onto surface

For this we're using the Detailer's Carpet & Upholster Cleaner.

Step 4 - Agitate the cleaner with a brush

For this were using a Cyclo soft Gray brush attached to a Griot's Garage 6" dual action polisher on the 5.0 Speed setting and a light touch.

Step 5 - Extract cleaner and loosened dirt and grime.

For this we're using the Aztec Hotrod Extractor using slow wet passes and even slower dry passes.

You can see by the color of the liquid being extracted that these carpets were not very dirty.

    Nice work Craig!

    Thanks Axel,

This car is fast and now it's clean inside and out... the next detailing project besides the wheels and calipers will be detailing the engine compartment.

That's going to look great. They will definitely pop behind the wheels.

Here's before, this picture was taken after decontaminating the paint with Auto Finesse Iron Out and then washing with Detailer's Xtreme Foam Formula Soap and drying with a Guzzler Waffle Weave towel.

So this is before claying and before polishing and the LSP. This picture can be found at the bottom of post #3. Note that I did write in post #7 that my co-worker Jeff noted the paint looked very shiny in the shot below but when he felt it with the baggie test the paint felt very rough. There were very few swirls or other paint defects in this car which is a GOOD thing as I don't think in the last 50,000 miles it's seen much action in the way of paint detailing. The last owner was in their 70's.

Here's after wipe off of the LSP...

Now the paint is completely cleaned, polished, smooth and clear. It's just not a HUGE visual difference from where it started but if you could feel how glassy and slick the paint feels now you would be amazed.

Thanks for taking your time to do this Mike - awesome results.
I agree with your statement, good thing the paint is in such a good condition already, and I do see a deeper shine in the after-pics, looks great!
Good job, will definitely need to come down from Orlando to a Thursday event in the near future...
    /Daniel.

You know... if you read through this thread you'll notice two things,

    1. I never mentioned what I used for an LSP - That's so unlike me.

    2. No one even asked what I used for an LSP?

    /Daniel.

Take my word for it... this first project the week after SEMA is going to put some very cool "things" into the hands of anyone that attends long before the rest of the world has a chance.

Always love to see a guy take a 'clean' car and spend a few more hours 'cleaning' it. Truly fantastic!
