I thought it was a SMAT product but it feels very gritty.
SMAT = Super Microscopic Abrasive Technology
Something in the formula was "not" microscopic. We also used this product by hand to remove baked-on adhesive and it worked really well for this when 3M Adhesive Remover didn't touch it.

Mike I feel your pain on removing those stripes. I've done it many times before. At least they weren't reflective vinyl. I always seem to only get the top layer off and have to struggle with the bottom reflective layer.

Perhaps my comment about using the maroon W72707 and it generationg heat didn't come out as I intended. I was trying to ask if there was a particular reason why you chose that pad over a wool pad.

Hi Bill,
The first reason I used the foam cutting pad is because I spoke with Jason Rose about this project and using M101 on it and he suggested this pad, I also referenced this conversation in #4 here....
Meguiar's M101 Foam Cut-Compound versus Swirls!

So priority #1 will be to offer everyone that attends Thursday night's class a chance to use the system as it was designed to be used.
The other reason is because the label on the bottle reads,
Foam Cut Compound
Kind of an indicator on how it's supposed to be applied....
