    Fyi

In case you guys noticed I was MIA lately...

For some bad DK news, our main sewer line leading out of the house broke Thursday night. It currently dumps into our finished basement. Apparently cast iron buried in concrete will NOT last forever like the builders in the 70s thought.

My husband and I have been living in a hotel since we can't flush, shower, rinse, wash, cook, etc in the house.
Luckily insurance will cover a lot of the cost, everything EXCEPT the line to be repaired or replaced. It's considered "wear and tear".

Fingers crossed gang this gets fixed this week and I can move back into my house.

Ouch, that stinks....literally. I am glad your insurance is able to help. I am quite surprised they don't have some fine print that totally negates coverage.

Sorry to hear that. Are they going to dig out the old pipe, or just bypass it. Either way, sounds like a big job. Glad to hear that your homeowners will cover most of the cost.

As of right now, they need to dig down to it (outside) and will re-line it.
