Unfortunately you're right. I'm sure you've heard by now the next Audi S4 will be DSG only.

S-tronic (DSG) is going away in the next S4. It will just be an 8 speed auto.

My DD is a 350z and has tiptranoic transmission so you can drive automatic or manual (a computerized version of manual).I have driven it in "Manual" before but Houston traffic is terrible so I don't even attempt it anymore..I am thankful for my automatic.. BTW, I had a pickup truck with standard transmission years ago and it was fun to drive back then..However, since I've gotten older, I don't like having to shift through the gears continuously when I am driving but to each their own..

Where did you hear that? I can't find any mention of it. In fact I read this about the 2016 S4:

A six-speed manual comes standard, while a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is also available.
