Re: Roll Call! Who drives a MANUAL transmission?
I work with a lot of truck drivers and find it surprising how many semis are now automatics. I guess the last great area of manuals are slowing going away as well

I'm sure that neither a:
Jack, Jenny, Mule, or Hinny doesn't count...
But how about mechanized farm equipment?
(Did plenty of driving both kinds as a mere lad.)
Thought I was in seventh heaven, when I tested
for my DL while driving a 3-on-the-tree '52 Chevy.

Skyline GT-R's only offered in a manual, way it should be for all GT-R's.

I drive both. My personal car and my work car are manual. My detailing van is automatic.
I really prefer manual, automatic is really boring to drive

Sti is 6 speed, 71 C10 is 3 on the tree. The DD's are autos.

Re: Roll Call! Who drives a MANUAL transmission?
I drive a 5 seed manual. 99% cars sold here are Manual stick. People avoid buying automatic for some reason.

Re: Roll Call! Who drives a MANUAL transmission?
Currently GTRs are only available with a dual clutch six speed manual transmission, there is no third pedal on GTRs anymore.
When it comes down to it daily drivers are just transportation for most of us, so its really whatever gets me to point A to B as comfortably as possible. If I get another car that's more of a toy it will be a standard transmission if possible.
When learning to drive I think everyone should learn to drive with a standard transmission because it really does make you a better driver.

2003 Ford Mustang Cobra.
It came with a T-56 six speed and I have since replaced the T-56 with a T-56 magnum with tighter gear ratios. It will also handle a lot more horsepower and torque. Shifts smoother too.
Switched to a dual disc Centerforce DYAD clutch too.

I've done the 3-on-the-tree. Very interesting experience.
While in college, I'd spend the summers doing facility or grounds maintenance work. The vans in the fleet were all Ford Econolines with the three speed transmissions. I ended up driving them a lot because I was only one of two guys on the crew able to drive a manual.
