It will be very interesting to see if this guy can escape justice!

    Re: VW Scandal

Working at a VW/ Audi dealer, so far this seems to have had little effect at the dealer level in terms of new car sales. Our Audi dealer moved 17 cars on the last day of the month and 61% of our total sales were after the scandal was announced. Our VW sales were down 4 compared to August, but 60% of our total sales occurred after the scandal was announced.

Perhaps, in this case: "any publicity is good publicity" ?

At least within the VW enthusiasts they don't care. The bigger concern is if they take their cars in for a "fix"will it hurt their Mpg's or performance.
Thankfully my car is pre scandal so it is not a concern of mine.

It's unfortunate that VW was deceptive, but it's also unfortunate that some of the regulations the EPA has set out are not taking into account the big pic of diesel cars.

    Re: VW Scandal

Deceptive is indeed unfortunate, but can be expected, when profit is the holy grail of biz.

EPA does not always get what it wants, compromise occurs, plus depending on who's in office, says how things work. Refer to post #36 as an example

@GSKR repeat from another thread post #47

    Forget what?

What maybe 30+ people on a school bus, should each of those parents drive the kids individually (own car) the amount of pollution & gas used exceeds that of the bus. Therefore emitting more pollutants into the atmosphere. Most buses have the tail pipe high up, so exhaust or less exhaust enters the car behind.

Modified vehicles are cheating the system, & those individuals Think, they know more than the regulators. Cheating is not the answer!

Yes VW should rightfully be held accountable!

Cancer is a much larger issue & causation, than just, tail pipe emissions.
