    Dash Cams recs

Based on another post about someone's bad luck with bad drivers got me thinking once again about installing a dash cam.

    Anyone use one?
    Any recommendations?

Using a BlackVue DR650GW-2CH here. So far, nothing exciting to upload.

Get a dash camera that uses an internal capacitor instead of a battery to maintain its memory when ya turn the vehicle off.
Those batteries don't like the vehicles interior heat during the hot summer months.

The g1w is good, but g1wc is better. Beware of fakes though. I myself have the blackvue dr650gw 2 ch like dahen. Yes it is expensive but I like the design of the unit and I use it with the power magic pro so it still records when I'm parked in a parking lot with my car turned off.

I use my phone mounted on the dash. Was cut off twice and decided I wanted to have proof of these a holes. Works great and actually caught someone turning into me and causing me to veer into on comming traffic. Police thanked me for having video of it.

I have DOD Tech LS460W. Check out some youtube videos to see the quality for whatever cam you are thinking about.

My dad has one, think he only paid 15 bucks for it and it records 720p and its been fine for about 2 years now.

The only downside i have with them is the max record time and then having to clear the card and put it back in....not something i really have time, or desire to do.

Like the two other members, I too use a Blackvue but the DR550GW-2CH model. I also have the powet magic so it is recording when my car is off in parking lots. I upgraded the micro sd to a 64GB and it automatically deletes older footage as the card gets filled up. I've had it for 2 years and haven't had a problem yet.
