You should have posted here first. I could have told you any Explorer was and always will be a piece of crap. Raptor looks no different. 10 speed transmission. Lol.

All that black plastic will be faded gray on the Raptor in exactly 1.3 years.

Oh yes - car was smoking out the exhaust from buildup twice. Had it in for service - also had to replace the gear shifter because it wouldn't read car was in park. Then had an issue with the CV boot and front suspension "popping"

Also, interior quality is a joke. Under the seats the carpet is just laid in and not cut clean. You can see the frayed edges. The piano black interior finishes show dust and finger prints terribly. The sync system reacts so slow it's infuriating.

All this for a car with a sticker price of $48k. So glad we only leased the vehicle.

Between my wife and we've been fortunate enough to buy 16 new cars - mix of American / Japanese / German - two have been Ford (98 mustang GT and the 2013 Explorer sport) and I'll never own another. Been burned twice...

Sorry to hijack the thread - vent complete.

However, Raptor does look cool - just want to warn on the engine for anyone thinking of grabbing one.

    The new ford RAPTOR

For the price just get a base tundra 4x4, add supercharger and goodies for less. You'll have even more power!

I have an F-150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost. I'll take it over the coyote any day. The power down low is fantastic. I've had zero problems with it and just bought a 14 explorer with the same engine.

There is talk of rolling back the absurd EPA fuel economy requirements now that we have a President not beholden to tree-huggers and extremists. Hopefully now the car makers can offer what we want, not want some bureaucrat in Washington decides we should have.
