    Smile ONR surprise

After washing my car twice with ONR, I discarded it onto the lawn. A week or so later the grass was greener, and taller at that spot. It surprised me. I think it must contain Phosphates. Phosphates are banned in fertilizer in Ontario. Looks like my lawn needs another feeding.

I'm pretty sure there's no phosphates in ONR. The MSDS doesn't even show any hazardous ingredients, as opposed to Optimum Car Wash which has a couple of different sulfates in it.

Looks like I might try a "test spot".

Maybe it's the UV inhibitors in the ONR? Maybe you found a new use for ONR?

Last I checked, grass (and other plants) need sunlight to live, lol! Just teasing!

I don't know what caused it. Just an observation on my part. ONR is cost prohibitive for use as fertilizer.

    Maybe it was the water?

If you think it was the ONR, try one spot of plain water and one of your ONR mixture. I'd guess they would look similar.......

Joe, No Rinse only contains soy based polymers that are cross-linked with amine groups (nitrogen) and both amine and soy (acetates) act as fertilizer. There are no Phosphates in any of the Optimum Car Care products since phosphates cause algae issues and are banned from use in many industries.

Even got Dr. G involved here. Good to hear from him. I doubted with how environmentally friendly ONR is that phosphates would be in it.
