We bought Rocky a new bed a couple of months ago, but being a cat he wouldn't go near it, so I needed trick him. I know when he goes into the garage he likes to sleep wherever the dogs have been, he must like their scent. So I got the dogs to put their scent on it yesterday, and tonight, he decided to try it out.

My poor little boy has been in the wars again.



He's been a little off for a few days now, but this morning he was breathing heavy and panting. So it was off to the vet, although not our normal vet as they no longer offer afterhours/weekend service after being sold out to a chain. Que an x-ray, then into theater with an obstructed/perforated bowel. Dog's are known to eat just about everything, but cockers instead inhale any food they can get their paws on, no matter what might be around said food.

Surgery went well, he woke up from anesthetic better than most I'm told. But there is some concern about his kidneys and gallbladder. The surgery itself was not an insignificant cost, but to deal with the gallbladder would be more than three times that cost, and I'd have to travel to Melbourne for it. I'm just hoping he pulls through, I'm just not ready to make "that" decision yet, not ready to say goodby.

Buster and Ziva met their first Cocker Spaniel just last week, about a year old, he was only about half Buster's size, but he was spicy, not that either of mine were giving him any trouble, but he was definitely telling them he wasn't afraid of them.

Him not greeting me at the door after work hurts, and being such a clingy dog, him being all alone breaks my heart.

Cockers are such wonderful creatures, daggy but loyal, placid and loving. In my early years, we had a roan called Haffey. We were inseparable, best friends. That is no different with Faych.
