What to do when you have guests/hosting

I take good care of my vehicle and have things I do and do not do to maintain it.

Recently, I was hosting a guest who I respect very much in my field and found myself biting my tongue when they where doing things out of my norm. Such as placing their coffee mug on the roof before getting into the car and putting things on the seats that I normal wouldn't. I didn't think I was so specific/crazy, but now I know I am.

What do you all do when people do things that make you cringe around your car?

they wouldn't because they know my passion for cars
if they unaware, i just let it be and clean up the mess later when they not around...(ASAP) since they are someone i respect

What do you all do when people do things that make you cringe around your car?

I noticed your description of this person went from them being a respected guest...To a person whose actions made you cringe.

The best approach that I've always used to find relief from such cringing actions like you describe above, is to just be up front and relate what my "rules" are when it comes to my vehicle.

They usually smile and say: 'Sorry...I didn't know'.
Communication begets understanding.
Respect should always be a two-way street.


Then, of course, there are those whose motto is:
"If it ain't yours...Break it"!!
