I haven't done an interior job, but if I ever find money, I'll return it. If it's pure trash, like a straw wrapper or something, I'll throw it away. If it's a receipt, I'll return it just in case .
Never detailed someones car. But I find it all the time when I..... detail my husbands cloths on laundry day. I found over a hundred dollars one day. I returned it.

Everything I find goes back to the owner; it belongs to them not me.
The smallest amount of cash I found in a car was a penny which I promptly returned.
A body shop owner I know will put a clear plastic bag in his vacuum and give it to you when you pick up your car.
He had a person tell them that they had some kind of ring on the dash/floor and that's when he started to return even the dirt.
Smart move on his part IMO

Thats how I feel. Not sure of the most amout though. I have found 1/5/20 dollar bills and tons of change. I just put it in the ashtray.
And you never know if the owner is setting you up, to see if you are a honest business owner.

To achieve excellence, excellence cannot be rushed. Technique is just as important as the product used.
While my approach takes more time, the results are far superior.
I have mobile detailers sometimes do weekly cleans to my car when im too busy to clean it myself and everything thats inside better be there when i get my car returned. In the center console i always have a few bucks for Toll and such and in the glove compartment I always got $20 for emergencys (those times i accidently leave my wallet at home which is rare but still).
Just because the money is there dosn't mean its a jackpot for the detailer. the guys that clean my car even pick up all the lose change between the seats and under the seats and put it in the cup holder for me.
The most a $20 bill.
Yes and no on returnig some change. The first thing that I do is separate valuables and trash. Everything that I find goes in a baggie and is left in the car. There is a certain sound that change makes being sucked up with a vacuum. A lot of guys on here can probably tell you what coin was just sucked up. Anyway a long story to say that I don't break down my vacuum each detail. May have to start.
