Went to Simeone Race Car Museum - Took Crappy iPhotos

Don't ask me any specifics about these cars - I couldn't tell ya. But, this place is pretty cool. Most cars there were decently detailed - with faint marring.

I do know about this car - 1928 BMW 328

Drug my GF here... She is the dot in the center

    Finally:

I was there a couple years ago...one of the really cool things about his collection is that not only are they some really great race cars but, IIRC most are operational and get periodically driven. For example, you can see the catch pan under this one:

Yeah, I did notice that. They had a huge motorcycle display - and it seemed like most of them had catch pans and had a few oil drips or so.

I also went to the America on Wheels Museum the other day - but didn't take any pics. Was kind of bummed because I went hungry & the cafe was closed.

It's OK. Not as good as the Simeone. A lot of stuff having to do with Mack Trucks, Fire Trucks, and some bicycles as well. Not as many "sports cars" - and not a single BMW in the place .

A lot of very old cars (pre-WW II) and they currently have an exhibit on "lost Marques" - which are rare brand cars no longer around; like Edsel, Avanti, & Studebaker.

The do have some learning exhibits as well and a library of car books you could sit and read until your heart's content.

The sell the Schmitt mit in the gift shop and some detailing supplies by "Technician's Choice" - whoever they are. I was out of there in about an hour because I was hungry and getting cranky. I probably would have stayed longer.

I am a volunteer at the Simeone Museum. A visit on a rainy day would be great, but you would do better to come on one of our demonstration days. You will see the cars being driven in our back lot and will be able to come right up to them, hoods off, afterwords. You can go to the Simeone Museum page on youtube.com and see videos of the way we do a demonstration day. Also, one of our volunteers keeps all of the cars looking good with "Bike Spirits". Next Demonstration day is toward the end of September.
Additionally, thanks for posting the photos here of the collection.
It does not matter what type of camera you have. These cars look great thru any lens.

Yeah...I saw they sold "Bike Spirits". What is that stuff? Looked sort of like a waterless wash type product.

I would love to "volunteer" to detail some of those cars...
