I messed up my new couch trying to extract stains help!!!

Lol so im going to be moving soon and one thing i need, since my ex got ALLLLLLL the furniture in our divorce even though she lives with her mom..., is a couch. I picked up a surprisingly nice 3 piece sectional couch in the free section on craiglist today. Problem was one section of the couch was covered in stains from a 2 year old and a 4 year old. The couch is beige suede also. Thought to my self no problem and picked it up.

I get home set it up and get to work. I sprayed the two cushions and back rest with folex and scrubbed with a med soft brush. Most of the stains were coming out but for the really hard ones i sprayed with some megs APC. Then i took my bissle spot clean pro and went to town on that one section. It cleaned up very nice and looks brand new again.

HERE'S THE PROBLEM. I let it dry with some fans on it and i just went to check on it and the area i cleaned is super stiff now. Almost crunchy stiff. My gf is p!ssed and thinks im an idiot who ruined it even more ( i also ripped a cushion loading it in my truck lol.) Is there anything i can use to soften it back up? I was thinking mixing some laundry fabric softener and water in a spray bottle and spraying it down? I dont think its real suede btw. It doesn't really feel like it. Its a very short fabric similar to suede though.

Any ideas so im not in the dog house with my girl on this one? lol. Bad enough i ripped the good section but now i messed up the other section lol. Any idea at all will be welcome. It was free so im not to worried but i have to admit it was in amazing condition for being free.

I'm not sure if this will help at this point but the microfiber furniture cleans really well if you just take dish soap and water shake it like crazy and then scoop up the bubbles and rub those into the microfiber.

I think all that stiffness is the apc still stuck in there. You should rinse and extract it more with just plain water, or if you can get an acid fiber rinse to "neutralize" the soap it would probably come out softer than just water

    Couch

It sounds as if there may be some soap residue still in the fibers. Try rinsing it again and just use water in your machine. These small machines aren't very powerful and it may take a some effort to get it right.

Also, I know most of use are do-it-yourselfers but an additional option is to give a call to a carpet and upholstery cleaner and have him do it..

Me thinks you sucked up some baby poop or something else that was stuck in that couch. Folex does not need to be extracted 100% and will not leave material "hard".

It sounds like the material you may be describing is micro-suede. My couch is micro-suede as well. I have used Folex on it many times, along with Bissel's carpet cleaner in their machine without incident.

    Bottom line: I really don't think it's the Folex. Meg's APC - I dunno.
