So Kaspersky is the best? I have Trend Micro Internet Security right now, the firewall + antivirus. Didn't buy it

Compared to Trendmicro, Norton, and McAfee. NOD32 is good but you need to be pretty computer savvy to use it to it's full extent. If you "find" Kaspersky on the net share lol.

No quarantines ... and several warnings that email contained malicious content before opening !
THats exactly what I do! It only comes with the discs and no manuals, so if the box and manuals are a MUST, then I would hit Costco

after its fnished press "Apply existing license key"
and press next, then browse to desktop
then open key folder and double click on the file inside

Re: Computer savy folks, whats a solid Anti-virus program?
I've used norton on my mom's PCs and had issues with it. I'm currently running Zone Alarm, Spybot, and norton. DLing NOD32 atm.

Re: Computer savy folks, whats a solid Anti-virus program?
AVG from Grisoft is great, uses very minimal computer resources (unlike Norton). Also, get a spyware scanner like Ad-Aware and/or spybot. Those two are all you need for most applications...and they are free.
Aside from being resource hogs, Norton and McAfee could be pain in the ass to uninstall.

Re: Computer savy folks, whats a solid Anti-virus program?
I have been running NOD32 for 3 years now..and not one infection ....there is a tutorial on Howards security forums to set it up to its best settings...I also run BOclean which is now Comodo BOclean..it is a trojan and malware program...works great and a set and forget type program...
another good AV is Virual toolkit from Germany I believe....it has great detection ratings..
