Re: Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?
After I got home tonight I did my usual wash but scrubbed the tires down twice to get that damn dressing off that Discount Tire applied to the new shoes, imagine putting dressing on the tires but the car car was dirty, LOL!
I then went upstairs to R&R but R.R. was having none of that, so I went back downstairs to try out the new DP tire coating kit I bought during Christmas. I first sprayed the tire cleaner onto 1 of the 2 provided mf towels to wipe clean the tires further, they dried pretty quickly, so I was ready for the coating. I actually used an extra applicator from my TW tire coating kit because the applicator has valleys cut into them, thus holding the product better, they are awesome applicators! The DP tire coating is a milky white and I suggest you rub the product into the applicator at first so it soaks in because on a new one like I used, it just ran off, a top tip for those of you out there using this with any new applicator.
I applied 2x's and this stuff, although milky white in color, does leave a blueish tint on there but its on there and will sit overnight and I will check it out in the morning. I will pull the car out to take some pics but I have high expectations for this coating as its made by a company I trust, which is DP! I'm going to do a full review and get my own thread going for it.
As with any new tires, there might be some "soaking in" but that will be covered in my review thread, so keep an eye out for that.
Anywho these tires, WHAT A DIFFERENCE from my snow shoes but that's to be expected. My steering now is weighted again, I really like that. The rear wheelwell liner on the d/s had to be modded because the larger tire actually rubbed a bit but no worries, its all good and even if I pointed this out to someone they'd really not notice it. The tires themselves, the Yoke S-drives, are VERY squared off, really look great on my car, giving it a mean look for sure
Pics coming tomorrow!

Not sure if you can "really" see the difference, I sure can but here's some pics of the new shoes on the freshly wiped down Abarth using DG made up as a QD:

I'd love to have that rear wiper removed but it was used quite a bit this past winter, gotta wait a couple years before my wife's Mazda 6 becomes my "winter beater" and then I can do things like that...amongst other things

A lot of MINI folks did that... I was never interested as I used my rear wiper CONSTANTLY. I don't know about the Fiat, but the MINI boot got filthy all the time.

Speaking of the MINI Monica, did you see they've come out with a new JCW for the F56? It has 228 hp!! I built one on the MINI site and it came out to about $38K. I bet with an intake and tune that car should easily get over 250 hp!!! I don't think I'll see too many around here but if I do, I'll back down as that car would trounce me
Oh and BTW, I picked a cool new green for it too, white roof and mirrors, what else, LOL!
