Re: REVIEW: Dollar Shave Club vs The Art of Shaving

I've heard great things about the safety razors, but I guess I just never made the jump to try them. It is pretty clear, that you can't beat them on price.

The great thing about the ones I am using now (4X from DSC) is that they are comfortable, sharp, and because they last a long time and are shipped so frequently, even my wife has blades that she can use for her shaving needs.

She personally likes them better than any other women's razor on the market so it's like killing two birds with one stone.

    Hey Nate. Long time man!

I've heard Jim Rome advertise for DSC and have been meaning to sign up. Occasionally I go to an old school barbershop here and get a straight razor shave. Nothing tops that IMO

    Good to hear from you

I always wanted to try one of those shave clubs. Hell, once in awhile I still use a straight razor with my lather in a cup.

Re: REVIEW: Dollar Shave Club vs The Art of Shaving

This is a great review, i was looking into the Art of Shaving but the price was not my favorite part. I use Gilette Fusion Pro-glide along with the Gilette Pro-glide sensitive skin shaving cream, topped off with Aqua-velva (blue color) for aftershave.
Those razers are expensive and i go through them fast.

Based on your review i will look into the Dollar Shave Club.

    Thanks!!!

    Thanks for this Review OP!

I was just looking at the Dollar Shave club a few days ago and signed up as a fan on the FB page. A friend of mind recommended this service.

    Looks good to me..

Which Razors have you used from them?

I would assume the nicer razor monthly package provides a better shave than the cheapest package.

I would love to get away with the cheapest razor possible that still provides a good clean and smooth shave..

    Hey Flash!

Yeah, I took a hiatus for a little bit, but I'm back and will be just as active as before

You really can't beat it if you're not using safety razors. $6 a month for 4 fresh blades, and I re-order the shave butter once every other month because I shave every other day during the week.

Not to mention the hilarious videos that the founder puts online will keep anyone entertained!

Yep! It was playing as an ad a few years ago on YouTube, and I honestly thought it was done as a joke. But I'm glad I followed the link they provided as it has proven to be a solid product!

Re: REVIEW: Dollar Shave Club vs The Art of Shaving

I like to use a shave gel that stays semi clear instead of lathering up white because I sport the goatee and it helps to see where to shave. The recommendation above is helpful. I used to use and love a product called King of Shaves which is a UK company. For awhile they partnered with Phillips I believe and sold their product at Target. A 5 oz tube was about $6. Target stopped carrying it a year or so ago, but I found it on amazon at what looked like a clearance of the stock. Got 2 six packs for about $15 each. If it's still available, it's great if you have facial hair and the price is awesome at that Amazon price.
