    Working Out/Staying in shape-thread

    What is you workout routine? How do you stay in shape? Any tips, suggestions, ideas?

    I'll start;

    I lost approximately 32 pounds in the last year, this consisted of running every other day at least 1 mile outside or on the treadmill. Low carb and calorie diet, along with weight lifting. Within the last year i went from benching a max of a weak 135lb to 190lb.

    I am currently 6'1 at 180 pounds.

    I ride a bike in excess of 10,000 miles a year and run 15 miles a week. That's about it.

    I use Daily Burn in conjunction with running. Wish I could return to the gym but with a business, 2 toddlers, and my church responsibilities it is just not going to happen. I used to do a lot of bodybuilding and westside training.

    Any and all of the P90X workouts here. I have them all and will be buying P90X3 in a couple days when it is released. GREAT programs.

    I lost 67 lbs over about 1.5 years. Currently struggling getting below 200 for about 3 months. I am also 6'1"

    Working out 3 days a week on and off. Too many things get in the way at that time. Upped my weight from 144 to 155 and staying steady now. Focusing on core vs body building. Dropped all supplements and trying to maintain good dietary health.

    Re: Working Out/Staying in shape-thread

    Over the last three years I've lost about 30lbs and held it down.

    I locked in a routine where I work out 1hr, 5-days a week every evening right after work. I'll do 30~40 minutes of cardio combined with light weights. In the warmer months I'm running 3 miles on alternating days as part of that cardio.

    The biggest thing for me was behavior modification in regards to eating. I used an app on my phone called MyFitnessPal which allowed me to load everything I ate along with my excercise to show net calories for the day. I was shocked at first, but used that tool to get myself into a routine where things were in balance.

    I've been going to the little gym at our apartment 5 days a week since June. I hit the bike for 1 hour, treadmill for 30 mins everyday no matter what. M-W-F I do 3 sets of 10 on the bench press, I'm up to 140 lbs now, 30 more lbs to my weight. I've been adding 10 lbs the beginning of each month, its worked out so far. I also do arm curls w/ 25 lbs, 3 sets of 10. On T-T I do behind the back pulldowns and front pull downs on the machine, 80 lbs right now.

    I'm short and stocky and don't have the genes to get cut, atleast that's what I figure anyways but that's ok. My buddy Derek0609 and I made a vow many moons ago to not look like the guys with the huge boilers that sit infront of their muscle cars at carshows, we've held up our deal, now I just wanna tone up a bit if I can.

    I'm subscribing to this thread to get some tips and tricks, just like w/ detailing cars, all input is welcomed!
