Nice order there buddy...wow just look at all those products..nice..congrats on the Metabo. You will enjoy the Metabo.

Warning: What ever you do, do not press the red button when the machine is on. You can do some serious damage to the machine, may even kill it.

That goes to you to Gary.

Well I was very tempting to press the buttong but I didn't, I was chatting with a memeber from Autopia and he said he pressed the buttong wile the Metabo was runing at about 1500rpm...the machien stopped instantly and smoke came out of the motor. Oh and he said that it makes a very big loud "BANG"...kinda like a loud claping sound. Well after the smoke he tried to turn on the machine and the motor would run but it would not spin the backing plate let alone the foam pad attached to the backing plate.

I haven't done it my self...nor will I ever try it but if you really look at the way the red button works it makes sence. The red button loocks the threading (the shaft that you place your backing place on). The purpose why it locks is is to help you replace the backing plate so you'll never need to use a wrench/tool. That is it's purpose...but to sudenly stop the machine, specially at high rpm.

Was afraid you had ruined your Metabo,

Putting red buttons on guys things is risky, they know we think "Oh red button, can i push it.....BANG....guess not" its a classic..
