Re: cost to own a bugatti veyron
For some it's like donating $1000 to charity. I wish! LOL

And upon delivery, there are certain maintenance items you are required by ownership under contract to do which includes a routine annual maintenance of $20,000, detailing services around $10,000, a wheel and tire replacement every 10,000 miles with a price tag of $50,000 for a set of tires.
Seriously? Bugatti REQUIRES the owner to have the car detailed for that insane amount of money? Sh!t, the car isn't even THAT attractive. Rich people must really have nothing better to do with their money. Kind of sickening if you ask me.

You can empty the gas tank in 8 min so stupid what a waste of money. Great looking car but a huge waste of money I would rather have a classic car any day.

Re: cost to own a bugatti veyron
I have to play devil's advocate here.
The Bugatti is a breakthrough on a scale that has never been approached or achieved before. Whether or not an onlooker finds it visually appealing or not, it is the standard setting work of engineering genius that other companies have followed the trends of for a decade now, and counting.
Just to bring this vehicle to market, and the ultimate WILD success the car has been for VW, there were hundreds of MILLIONS of dollars in R&D and testing - many of the tests in fact, didn't even exist UNTIL they created them.
As far as it being a waste of money - that is also a null and void argument, because I'm sure the many employees, painters, accountants etc who rely on successful business professionals to buy these vehicles to supply for their families and their children's tuition etc have a different view. It's easy to mindlessly demonize the successful, but the successful are the ones who generate enough profits to hire the ones who scoff at their choices in transportation. If they have achieved the wealth to buy it, whether it's a $30 million dollar painting, a $5 million dollar Hublot watch, or a $1 million dollar super-car (that should put it in perspective) - good for them
Superfluity is what makes this world thrive and raises the baseline of excellence.
