Hey Papa, that Caprice weighed 3700 lbs w/ 8" Weld wheels in the rear and 5" Welds in the front, full tank of gas but nothing on the firewall, had a lot of fun in that car, fooled a lot of people on the street!

Re: Any drag racers here?
When we had drag strips in Southern California, I would ride my 1975 Kawasaki Z-1B to a couple of the closer strips.
The bike was turbocharged with a draw through single barrel carb. It was putting down 330 hp at the wheel.
Times were;
1/8 mile 5.58 @118.57mph
1/4 mile 9.47 @157.31mph.
Then the strips all closed and there was only street racing.
That was fun for a couple of years until the bets started reaching the moon.
I quit when there were several gunfights over the outcomes of a big money race.
Still have the bike today, but it has not been started in 20 years.

My son (14) and I drag race. He has an 06 MX2 Jr dragster that runs 8.1s @ 81 mph in the 1/8. I run a 70 1/2 Z/28 in Super Gas. 496, PG, 2474 lbs. Pics in my profile. I have racing for almost 30 years and still enjoy it.

Re: Any drag racers here?
To answer directly...Not any more (LOL).
Growing up in SoCal in the 50's-early 60's, spend WAY too much time at the strip. Mostly San Fernando and Long Beach.
It WAS MUCH less expensive (read-cheaper) back then to get involved.

Thats a nice second Gen. Camaro.I converted a former 69 race car to a pro-street but kept the big block 100 octane, turbo 400 with reverse valve body and 12 bolt.
