This, if you're on Verizon you want LTE. Even if you're on Verizon or AT&T in an area where LTE is not yet up and running (AT&T has very very few LTE markets still) eventually it will be and the speed will blow 3G or "4G" out of the water. What AT&T and T-Mobile are calling "4G" is really in between 3G and LTE speeds.

I'm a big Android fan but Apple got a big thing right on iPhone 5 with the LTE upgrade. They managed to do it with a single radio chip. Right now all the other LTE phones on the market use 2 radios. One for 3G and below, and one for LTE. This usually causes the battery life complaints that you hear about LTE and Apple putting everything on one chip should account for the battery life they're claiming they'll get with the 5.

I have been buying iPhones since the first one came out. I would recommend that you get the iPhone 5. Reason being. Apple drops a new one every year. What I do is sell my old one when the new one comes out and just put up maybe 50-75 dollars when my upgrade comes for AT&T each year. If you go with the 4s by the time the 5s comes out. (And I am sure she will want it). The 4s would not really be worth much. Apple products hold their value very well. And someone is always wanting to buy one. Just a thought for future reference.

Definitely the iPhone 5. If she is set on the iPhone, get her the best, so later down the road, you won't have to pay (as much) when she wants the next latest and greatest

Faster processor, better camera, larger screen, longer battery life, lighter, lte, and more durable. People say there is not a big different but there is.

I have both. Get the 5. LTE and bigger screen is enough reason. I didn't even lose my unlimited data on Verizon like some said I would.

Go with Iphone 5. The new update of iOS is optimized for I5 and all other applications will be optimized for I5 and lower for I4S. If the difference is not a problem, buy I5. Happy birthday in advance for your daughter!

Interesting Chris because my brother did lose his unlimited data. He was told that he would have to buy the phone at full price if he wanted to keep the unlimited data plan on Verizon
