Re: Opinions on Window Tint?
I tint all my cars, for a couple reasons...
1. I like the look.
2. It helps keep the interior cool.
3. Harder for people to see in if anything is in the car, and
4. I have photosensitivity so it helps that.
Who cares if people say it looks "ghetto"... just their opinion.
Do you and rock it!

Re: Opinions on Window Tint?
I always go with ceramic tint. Your tint guy might have a demonstration set up with a heat lamp behind conventional tint and ceramic tint. The difference in the amount of heat that is blocked by ceramic is extreme. And it's more expensive, of course.

Re: Opinions on Window Tint?
Meh I have had several different tints in the last 10 years on different cars.
HOT is hot period with your car sitting in the sun for 8 hours. Ceramic or not it’s gonna be hot as heck when you go get in it. It’s like dust. Dust is everywhere and is gonna settle on your car regardless of LSP
It’s not a “conditioned space” while it’s just sitting there
Now while you are driving down the road with ac on. yes it rejects heat better, it really does, no denying that
Is it worth the $ ? guess depends how much you drive in the hot sunny weather
It is substantially more money around here anyways. If you just need two front windows done to match the remaining it’s not a huge extra cost. It’s when all 5/7 or so windows need done its gets pricey

Re: Opinions on Window Tint?
I like 35% on the sides and then I do the back a bit darker. IIRC my ceramic tint is 15% on the back. I didn't do the windshield on this one but did on my Audi. The reason being is it does impact visibility at night just bit by causing slight starts around the lights since there's an adhesive layer to the tint. Normal impact but I was tired of it and wanted a more clean vision at night.
I think 35% is dark enough. If you don't have a rear back up camera I wouldn't go 15% as it makes backing up at night difficult if it's your only way of seeing what's behind you.

Re: Opinions on Window Tint?
I’ve got ceramic tint on my BMW and it’s great. Not as dark as the old type “limo” tinted stuff. Pretty amazing at blocking heat here in S. GA. Paid about $300 for it installed and well worth it.
