World's biggest Car Wash
I was watching Modern Marvels the other night and couldn't pass on the show about the biggest car was in the world and other facts about car washing. It's really worth watching.
So, I looked up the car wash, Cloister in Pennsylvania and was browsing their website when I saw this on their FAQs
Hand Washing vs. Automatic Washing?
Driveway car washing is widely considered a wholesome ritual for those who care about their cars. Yet it's one of the worst things you can do to your car's finish. First, rags and sponges used in the process inevitably become impregnated with tiny grit particles that scratch the paint and clear coat. Garden hoses often fail to remove all soap film. Soap residue can "bake" into the finish and eat into the paint for days afterwards.
They have got to be kidding. These car washes are what cause swirls and other paint issues. They also use the same rag for quite a few cars I notice. I even heard of one car wash in my area that was using detergent.

Well, if you watch closely how most people wash their cars... The statement is very accurate to be honest.
It's not OUR case, but that's exactly how the average person washes their car...

"Fact" from video: Washing a car at home uses more than 100 gallons.
Are you kidding me? This seems impossible unless you just leave the hose running the entire time without a hose nozzle.
Maximum I use about 5-6 gallons for 2 bucket wash. Maybe a gallon or two to rinse the car initially. And maybe 5-10 gallons to rinse multiple times while washing. That is still less than the 30 gallons they claim the car wash uses for each car.

No disagreement there but I believe they're (all car washes) are just as bad.
I often cringe when I see my neighbors washing their cars in the sun. Use the hose as if they're power washing a desk and other mistakes.

With "skunk odor" removal.
That must be a lot of fun bringing fido to the dogromat after he gets blasted by the skunk.
