Canadian Officer killed in the Line of Duty

You know, you join the force and you are well aware of the dangers the job presents. Statistically, car crashes are the leading cause of death for Law Enforcement. This poor Mountie, with only 5 years on the job, gets killed when his cruiser hits a bloody moose! Only in Canada. It's like hitting a wall, only worse as the animal will enter the cabin through the windshield. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family of officer Pineo of the Wilke detachment of the RCMP.

Wow! That's pretty crazy. Is this the first time a Police officer was killed by a Moose in Canada?

MV accidents are indeed the leading cause of death for officers, no less tragic than a shooting though. My thoughts are with the family. Best wishes.

Wow that is really tragic and sad

If I ever move to Canada, I may have to invest in a reinforced windshield.
