Help me with a little recognition for Yancy...

Help me with a little recognition for Yancy...

I'd just like to ask all my forum friends for their opinion and I'd also like to ask everyone to give me a hand giving our Creative Director, Yancy a little recognition.

I've worked with 4 different TV production companies and all of them have full crews, including,
    • Multiple Camera people
    • Director
    • Producer
    • Engineer
    • Grips
    • Make-up person
    • Extras

All these people work to create a finished video or TV show.

    >>> Yancy does everything by himself <<<

    Watch Yancy's Latest Creative Work
Now click the link below and watch Yancy's most recent video and keep in mind when we started making videos, he had never run a camera, let alone two cameras at the same time, one on a Tripod and the other on a Boom.

How to use the CR Spotless Water Deionization Systems

He had never used video editing software. Never did any of the things it takes to create a video. He taught himself everything he knows about making our videos and when I watch them I can see how he's become very talented at this craft.

So everyone here that has enjoyed the videos and LIVE BROADCASTS Autogeek puts out, how about a round of applause and some thumbs ups for Yancy!

After watching, how about a little feedback for his work? Especially all you that have video backgrounds.

Please keep in mind, if you have negative feedback try to balance it with positive to, something I learned while working for Hewlett-Packard.

    p.s.

Don't pay any attention to the goof in the video, just video style and quality.

I can definitely appreciate and admire Yancy's hard work and creativity. The videos he produces and the live webcast he does for us forum members. The video for the CR spotless was simply amazing! It's like watching a movie production.

    for Yancy. You deserve it!

The big thing I've noticed is during 'Detail Weekend', he is doing EVERYTHING. Not just the A/V stuff; but replying to various posts, maintaining the nuts and bolts of the production, eating pizza, on and on.

    Talk about 'multi-tasking'!

People like Yancy don't come around very often, he is (for sure) a keeper.

You hit the nail on the head Mike.

Yancy is the master of all trades but he's especially good at making complicated things simple, and that's not easy to do. Not only is Yancy talented, but he's an all around great guy and is the quintessential example of what genuine represents. It's a real treat to work with someone so talented and personable on a day-to-day basis.

    Thanks Yancy!

Awesome work Yancy, heck your videos even make it look like Mike knows what he is doing and that's a skill in its self!

It's amazing you have been able to self teach yourself such complicated techniques and equipment and produce great clear videos that make it easy for us, shall we say more challenged people.

    Thanks for all you Do!

Re: Help me with a little recognition for Yancy...

Video was shot under some very challenging conditions such as full direct sun with dark black subjects, exposure turned out very well (better than I was expecting).

Framing and product positions were well though out, and made the video interesting and informative, and I enjoy the slight downward angle shots from the boom.

Transitions, graphics and music were straight up professional.

The time lapse was a really good touch, and it is hard without having the footage to look at, but I may have tried to slow it down a bit, or do a second shot where you can see a close up of a few beads evaporating slowly. Could have also been too hot, I know when I was out at a car show on the fourth, my car surface was 160F

I was waiting for that one!

But you're right, he has the talent to surgically edit out most mistakes and... make me and anyone else look like they know what they're doing.

As for the sun, if you look at my face when we go inside the studio, i received a pretty good sunburn from the short time outside facing the sun when shooting the washing portion.

It's all good though and this was a very fun video to shoot...

A big thank you to the fine folks at CR Spotless for letting us shoot this video.

If you haven't already, check out all the TV commercials Yancy shot and edited for the second season of our TV show, the video quality is actually better than the video quality of the TV show.
