NEED HELP 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 or 2013 Ford Shelby GT500
Hey guys,
I have been going back and forth between these two cars for the past month, to the point I am losing sleep at night. Which one do you guys think will be more fun to drive and will be the better buy? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Well if it's power you're after then the Shelby is definitely the right choice. I think the Shelby was certified at 662HP (not sure how much at the rear wheels). You could try typing in keywords that will compare the two. I would say go with a Shelby because i'm biased now since I have a Mustang I love mine by the way. I've got the V6, but it's definitely quick. The 5.0's are sick.

There is a comparison in MotorTrend. They rank the zl1 as a better car. The gt500 will beat it in a straight line but the zl1 kills it on a road course. The zl1 has irs compared to the gt500s outdated solid axle. An the gt500 only has like 80 more hp (yes I know that makes a difference) you could easily do a few upgrades to close the gap. Plus I also believe the Camaro would be a more comfortable car to drive. Just my thoughts on the matter. Don't get me wrong they are both extremely badass cars.

Have you DRIVEN them both?
They're both awesome and the GT500 has always been a beast, plus the Mustang GT is a better platform to build on vs the Camaro IMO, but I drove a ZL-1 last weekend and I have to say it is MILES beyond the SS in terms of looks, response an performance. Granted she had been tweaked on a little but omg I was BLOWN away and didnt even care about the endless blind spots the car had.
If you haven't driven them, you aren't serious about buying either one. Each has it's fanboys, and opinions are like butt holes. See which one feels better to YOU. Numbers on paper are meaningless compared to the experience and emotion you get from physically getting behind the wheel.

All excellent points RoadRage. I couldn't agree more with you. Having a 2SS Camaro, I'm a little biased, but as he stated, take them both out and buy what feels right for YOU.

Being a Ford fan, I would go with the Shelby, The Camaro is known for visability problems, but if you cannot handle 650hp then do not go for it. I would go with the boss 302 as 650 is kinda pointless on a highway or street

As others have mentioned, go to the dealer and drive them both. See how comfortable they are and how easy they are to drive in traffic. Also check up on some forums and see what some members say about them and what possible problems they might have. Check to see how much some parts will be to replace and simple things like that. You will most likely being easily pleased with either one because of the high horsepower ratings.
