Canopy Sidewall
Whats up guys and gals...I need your help with something. I have an EZ-Up Escort canopy and I'm in need of some sort of a sidewall and wanted your suggestions. The reason I'm asking is because I have a never ending battle with my finacee's (soon to be my) neighbors. They are the ones who complained about me running my pressure washer. They're also the ones who are harrassing other neighbors about their dog poop (mind you...in their OWN backyard) and other various things. They're just those type of people that live pathetic lives where all they do is complain about things. I think the husband was bullied in school or something and now he's trying to get back at people, but I digress.
Anyways, what I've been doing is setting up my canopy at the end of the driveway and parking my car under it. What they've been doing now is parking their car (they only have one between the two of them) at the end of their driveway. They NEVER did this before. I'm thinking that they want to be able to say that something got on their car whether it be water or soap from my foam cannon to go back to the HOA with. They know they can't get me on the pressure washer and canopy but what I'm thinking is they want to be able to say that something I did is affecting them. So I need something to block the wind from carrying soap and water to their car. Only about 3 feet separate the driveways (we live in a townhouse).
These people are really pissing me off and have really made detailing somewhat stressful. My fiancee is telling me that I'm giving them too much though but at the same time I really don't want to give them any amunition.
Oh...and I contacted EZ-Up and they don't have anything.
Suggestions please!!!
Here is my canopy:

Have to love neighbors!
Honestly if your not running your business out of your house and it's just your vehicle they can't do anything. They going to go to the town cause you wash your car?!
If your set on doing something just to keep the headache away try a small tarp and pin it either using safety pins or something similar.
But I'm not going to lie if it was me and I was just detailing my own car on the weekends I'd tell them to screw. lol. But if your detailing customer's cars then that is another story. They can get on you for running a business out of your home and it may not be zoned for it.
I do details at my house sometimes (couple times a week) and I haven't had anyone complain yet...

Here is what I would do. Get a local sign shop to make you a 4 x 8 ft sign like the political ones you see around town. They are plastic and pretty durable. Have them print a HUGE picture of your face and hang that on the canopy. Seriously, Porsche Pilot would do that.

Alex...
Don't they realize that having you guys as neighbors is a blessing in disguise!
What happens when you guys move away, someday; and, they're faced with having ne'er-do-well, non-law abiding, totally disrespectful...riff-raff living beside them?
I must assume:
They're clueless.
Or, really aren't well-versed in the true meaning of neighborhood relationships/friendships.
For starters (as a good-will gesture, from you, on behalf of "friendship-teaching")...
-Offer to detail their vehicle...gratis.
-You need to invite them to the wedding and/or the reception for an up-close and personal "meet & greet"
with some of your best friends...Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson, for example.
Just a suggestion.

Re: Canopy Sidewall
Id bungee a tarp to the one side, make sure you add extra weights to the legs to keep the canopy from pulling into your car, or into their car.

Build a 20ft high brick wall between you and them.
Back in the day, I used to have neighbors that would complain when me and my band used to practice in the garage. Got the cops called on us every time

Re: Canopy Sidewall
egg their car and pointed out to them and then offer to detail for free as a gesture of neighborly love. They'll be your bf4ever

LMAO!!! Man these responses were great!!! I'm going to try to fabricate something, but I actually want to try to make it slick. You guys ever seen the umbrella's that are "wind proof?" It has to layers of fabric but aren't stitched together? I want to try to do something like that....it SOUNDS good, so we'll see. I may just end up buying some fabric and sew some velcro (hook end) to the fabric and leave the loop end on the trusses. We'll see how it goes.
As far as detailing their car, nope!!! Before they started complaining about the pressure washer and before the beef started, I asked the husband if he wanted to have his car detailed. I offered just out of being neighborly and he declined. I now realize why he said no....he knew one day soon he would complain about it and had he taken me up on the offer, he knew he couldn't complain about it. He would basically be on board with me running the pressure washer. Wouldn't you know...he complained about the pressure washer a week later.
To give you all an idea of the type of people they are, their neighbor (again we're in townhouses) on the opposite side of them has two dogs. Well, she installed a doggie door to go out on the back porch. She did this so the dogs could go out and use the bathroom. Well what they would do is take pictures of the dog poop on the porch and send them into the HOA. Yep...she'd then get a fine from them. And this isn't a one time deal...they do it all the time. They'll sit there and watch her and wait for something to happen. She said one time a case went to litigation because the poop wasn't sitting out longer than 24 hours-HOA rules state for peopel to pick up their dog's poop within 24 hours. Yeah...pretty ridiculous. She also said they are now harrassing her because she line dries her clothes. The HOA has implemented a new rule allowing people to line dry their clothes in an effort to be environmentally friendly. There are specific hours that you can line dry your clothes. She said she leaves the clothes out until they are completely dry....makes sense to me. Well wouldn't you know they complained about that.
This isn't everything she's told me but it gives you an idea of what kind of people they are. To me they live pathetic lives to be all up in someones business and sit there and WAIT for someone to do something. Good thing they don't live next to the kid who recently got drums and practices in the garage every night.
